I'm 28....we did ivf got 32 eggs 28 of them fertilized but I got really sick because I had so many ended up with severe ohss and a drain in my belly ....2nd ivf frozen cycle they unthawed 3 one made the thawing process and so far its my miracle bean pregnant almost 7 weeks after trying for 3years. I am 26 and did my first cycle this year. I had 12 eggs retrieved. 11 were fertilized. 8 made it to day 5. 2 were perfect blastocysts and were transfered. 2 made it to blastocysts on day 6 and were frozen. Unfortunately this cycle didn't work, but we are hoping to try again soon. Good luck with your journey.

First IVF at 40.....6 eggs retrieved.....5 were mature.....4 fertilized. They all were transferred. One took and we have a baby girl

In my 4 IVFs I had 12 eggs retrieved two times with 10 fertilizing both of those times, another IVF I had 14 eggs retrieved but because they ICSI'd all of them I had a lower fertilization rate of only 7 embies (we always got a higher fertilization rate when we didn't use ICSI), the fourth retrieval we got 9 eggs and transferred back 5 embies that time as it was my 43rd birthday (the day of the transfer and they'll transfer back more embies the older you are). In those 4 IVFs we transferred back 4 embies two times and 5 embies two times, all restulting in BFNs.

I think quantity was not my issue but most likely quality was. Finally got my BFP with my 5th cycle but first DE cycle. That cycle only two embies were transferred and I was initially preggo w/ twins but wound up with one singleton. My DD is now 2 years old and the love of my life!

First IVF at the age of 38 in Oct 2011:
13 eggs retrieved, 11 fertilized so we took them all to 5 day blast. 7 survived, transferred 1 embryo & froze 6 (we live in New Zealand and they only like to encourage single embryo tranfers over here, unless you are 40 or over) = BFP, 7 wk scan showed twins so embryo had split. 12 Wk scan showed no fetal heartbeats. D & C Jan 2012. :(

Natural cycle FET # 1 on 23rd March, They defrosted one embryo but it didn't look very healthy so that one was destoyed and another one was defrosted and transferred = BFP 5th April. 6.5 week scan due on Thursday (fingers crossed).

We still have our four frosties left.

Oh and I also did acupunture leading up to my fresh IVF cycle and on transfer day, but I didn't do any for my frozen transfer.

We found that during our cycle the decisions we had to make were all based on the results of each stage eg: How well you respond to the stims, how many eggs are eventually retrieved, the quality of the eggs, how many survived to blast if you decide to take them there etc etc. Sometimes the path you need to take becomes clearer once you have that information to work with.

Everyone's cycles are so different. My friend only had two Day 3 embryos to work with (she was devastated at the time and didn't think it would work) and she now has her year old son plus an embryo still frozen.
