What is meant by "low-quality follicles"? I produce very few follicles, but my RE is able to get the majority of them to over 15. My RE has never referred to this as low-quality, though. If you could provide some clarification, maybe I can give more advice?

I'm not really sure either. That's just what the nurse told me. The only thing I can guess is my follicles don't get big enough.

After the follicles are fertilized and the clinic allows then to grow onto day 3 or day 5 blastocysts, I'm not sure about other places, but my clinic rates them on a letter scale basis by the way the are developing both on the Isis's of the egg band it's shell. Like an awesome egg quality is AA then AB BA BB and so forth. So the way my clinic rates fair/ poor is BC and CC. My doctor told me for a woman my age and in my health and medical history I should have AA or excellent quality- that unfortunately is not the case and our last fresh cycle we got 30 eggs but only 4 made it to fair quality day 5..... So he basically told me I have the eggs of someone who would be in their early 40ties. Not sure if this is the same thing as poor low quality follicles . I would think if it had to do with the number they would call is low quantity follicles. Either way,, I hope regardless of what your nurse told you you have luck in this craziness, and I know many women can still get pregnant with any quality of egg- it only takes one!

I would definitely clarify with your RE what's meant by "low-quality follicles." Like caseykramer, the only time I've heard a "classification" is when I receive my fertilization report after a retrieval.
