Hi, I just got off Bravelle a few days ago and I too had bloating and lots of stomach problems.
If you don't get all the fluid in try standing up when u get the injection or try the injection in your thigh. Bravelle works great, I had 2 large and mature eggs(along w/ various small ones).

Hi Mensch. This is my first ivf as well and I'm also on day two with my stimulation meds. I am taking menopur and gonal f. I already feel bloated in my stomach and have slight cramping. On a positive note, we may be pregnant by the end of the month :)

This is a real uncomfortable time in the cycle. I had heart burn terribly when I was doing it. Also I was bloated and sensitive right away. I felt like I had a grapefruit for each ovary and they sloshed around when I walked. i am sure my ovaries weren't that big but that is what they felt like. Try shooting that second shot in your thigh. I think it is the one with the stiff plunger. (menepur)
I found it was a little easier and I had a little more control. Good luck with this cycle. This is the one!!

I did 2 cycles with Bravelle - same dose both times (5 vials/night for 9 days), and the first time I had some of the same side effects you are mentioning. You are probably just reacting very well to the stims. This last time I took Lupron along with the Bravelle and I didn't have any problems whatsoever, probably because it prevented overstimulation.

Yea, that's the one thing I didn't like about the Bravelle. The needle didn't hurt - but pushing all that fluid in, did. I did my stomach first cycle, and my thigh this time (because I was doing Lupron in my stomach), and noticed that the Bravelle hurt a wee bit less in my thigh.

I didn't use either of these meds, but stims can cause quite a bit of discomfort, luckily it's only for a short time and a very good cause. I have "consitutional" issues on a normal basis, so on the stims, forgetaboutit. I was total to make sure I up'd but fuild intake, not just water but gatorade and juices, and also up my protein intake to, lots of chicken etc. Also is the "bloat" is more then just gas, like with me, this next time I will be taking Colace to makes sure I stay as regualr as possbile. Approved by my RE.

I was on Menapur, but I think my meds were in a differnt order. Everyone is different but if you have questions you should write them down and discuss withyour dr at your next appt, he has to make you feel secure. GOOD LUCK!! you are in my prayers.

It makes me feel normal when I hear that others also have grapefruits in their stomaches. When meds, I'm often hypoallergenic and so I keep worrying that I'll "hyperstimulate." And the doc has me taking stim shots for 4 days before seeing him. By that time, I think the grapefruits might feel like watermelons :) The med. assistant who gave the shot training was really terrible. She kept getting the needles confused and going off topic ... talking about her own pregnancy experiences (while my husband and I were just trying to grasp all of the needles and vials). She mentioned injections in the thigh, but was referring to the progesterone. When I went in for my preliminary ultrasound I brought a list of questions, but the RE (who'd been relaxed and had lots of time to talk during the consultation) was backlogged with a full waiting room and rushed out the door. So I feel like I'm going through the process with too little info. No one even told me not to do strenuous exercise, for ex., though I guess that's common sense when you feel this bloated. Thanks futuremom and frustrated, I will try doing this bravelle/menapur shot in my thigh. You're right, Hopeful, maybe we'll be pregnant at the end of the month!
