I miscarried last month at 11 weeks and at my 8 week ultrasound my doctor discovered a fibroid. He described it as small and an "incidental observation". He said it was of no concern. Almost a month has passed since the m/c so I called him last week to see what we can do at this point and to my surprise he was suddenly concerned about the fibroid. He said he wanted me to come in for an u/s to check it out. I went yesterday and he said it was 18 mm which he thinks is small and not a problem but then in the same breath he says they can grow during pg. He said he looked at all my previous ultrasounds and does not think the fibroid had anything to do with the m/c. But, I can't help but still be worried about this fibroid and the possibility of it affecting a future pg. Another m/c terrifies me.

I have several fibroids and also lost a baby at 20 weeks. My loss wasn't due to the fibroids, but an undiagnosed bacteria infection that spread into my uterus. After loosing my baby I wanted to get my fibroids out but after several doctors, 2 hsgs and 2 saline sonos, I have to accept the fact that they are not in the lining or a place that would bother a pregnancy and move on. Also, the gyn surgen that I went to said that many women have scar tissue after the surgery that can mess with a pregnancy so if they aren't in the lining or blocking the tubes, he said it was best to leave them. Also, I have no symptoms from mine.
