I've been seeing it as well and I just don't get it!!

I don't like it at all either. It was a slap in the face to me.

I was really upset and depressed last night after seeing about 5 friends with a post like you mentioned. I mean, part of me was happy for them, but I was like you have to be kidding by the 5th! Then I got a message about it and realized it was the cancer awareness thing. People mean well...now that I know what it is all about I am fine. Last night was rough!

What exactly does it mean?

I just got on DS to post about this. I got the invite to join in....seriously?!?! It's one of my best friends at work. You think she'd know better!

Yeah, I found this to be completely ridiculous!
It really has NOTHING to do with cancer.

Every person on my fb (it seems like anyway) is pregnant. Sigh.

I'm tempted to put something about infertility out there too...and if your wrong for being angry, then I am too! People need to stop and THINK!

There are plenty of other ways to be supportive for breast cancer awarness and it should effect or make people sad, depressed, or angry about it! But women like all of us that battle with it daily shouldn't log on to facebook and be slapped in the face with that... my cousin who is battling infertility posted it and when I first read it I was super excited for her... and then saw the 10 others and thought WHAT THE HELL! Doesn't help I got told today I have adenomyosis along with my endometriosis and to get pregnant or hysto time.... Probably why it hurt a little more today.. but I'm 5 seconds away from posting something on facebook!

DH and I just couldn't take it last night and both posted something along the lines of...we are both huge supporters of breat ancer awareness (we both have family members who have suffered and we fundraise/donate regularly)but this game is inherently insensitive to the millions of people who suffer from infertility.
the "game" has no relation to breat cancer really. I kind of get the relevance of "color of
your bra" game from last year, but this one IS offensive to a lot of people! Whoever thought of this didn't also think about all of the women who have had breast cancer who can't have children, can't breast feed or died far too young. I say post away about this! People need to be called out more on their insensitivity!

I find it annoying too! A blog that I follow wrote an entry about it and said she posted this as her status "No, I will not post how many weeks I am or what I am craving in some misguided attempt to raise awareness for breast cancer. Pretending you are pregnant isnt funny or cute (nor does it raise awareness)certainly not to your friend who just suffered a miscarriage or is living with infertility. And with 25% of all pregnancies ending in miscarriage and infertility affecting 1 in 6 couples, I can assure you, someone on your Facebook has or is experiencing one of these things." I thought it was a great response!!

Mistyrose that is a great response. I have been invited for this as well and have decide to just delete the message. I am all for supporting breast cancer awareness but this is too hurtful for not only myself but my family members that might read that I think that I was finally pregnant. I just can't do it.
