Hello...I joined this group in hopes of finding some friends who understand infertility. I recently "came out" to my husbands family (3 sisters) and it went horribly. I told his middle sister about our almost 4 year struggle to conceive and got all of the insensitve comments you don't want to hear. It was so upsetting! I told her because I didn't have an excuse to not go to this baby shower for my husband's nephew's girlfriend and I was tired of the "when are you going to have a baby" questions that seemed to keep coming more frequently now. I also told because the youngest SIL married only 6 months just announced she was pregant. She announced it when she was only a month along. I am having a hard time being around her and avoid her at all costs. She is an over-the-top type of person...she gained 20 lbs in less than 2 months because she is preg and she can no longer drive because she is less than 2 months preg...I mean come on! And to top it off my friend from college calls out of the blue to tell me she is pregnant.
And 2ndly you've come to the right place as far as needing support and advice and encouragment to keep you going.
It's hard to see people around you pregnant or having babies, when you can't...we're ALL there in understanding that. But unortunately you can't totally avoid it. Everyone around me is pregnant and/or having babies left and right...except me too! It is hard, but you have to not worry and stress over them all and just concentrate on yourself, because to me the stress is the worst thing we can do to ourselves.
Anyway, WELCOME again and enjoy the board and these girls they are truly the best!
