I was wondering if anyone had an enlarged ovary from taking Clomid. I just started my 3rd round of Clomid and have not had any side effect until now. My doctor also just increased my dosage to 150mg. I'm having very sharp pains that come an go. And they happen on both sides. I had my appendix out a long time ago so I know it isn't that. Have any of you had this problem and if so what did it feel like? My doc said it could happen and that it would hurt, but that it isn't dangerous.....just annoying and painful. If I wanted pain medication she would give it to me. Anybody?

I believe that cysts caused from clomid, if unmonitored (ultrasounds) can be dangerous. I had a cyst last year that ruptured and landed me in the ER because my old OBGYN didn't think that it was necessary to monitor me on clomid. I think that you should ask for an ultrasound, before she just treats the pain. I hope you feel better!!!!!!!!

I am sorry, maybe I misunderstood, maybe your dr. meant OHS. Thats where your ovaries produce to many follicles on the clomid? I would still ask for an ultrasound, that should give you an answer.

Thanks everyone. I have had monitering. And cysts were not an issue. The enlarged ovary happens when the extra follicles are formed. I just wanted to know what it felt like. I go back to my doc next week for more bloodwork so if it is still bothering me then I'll ask her about it.

I am so sorry that I misunderstood your question. From what my dr told me OHS is not harmful, just painful. I know from experience that the cysts are painful especially when they rupture.

Well I'm definitely feeling the pain. I think it's the higher dose. But the 100mg didn't work. If it gets too bad I'll call dr. But right now, AF cramps are far worse

I to have an enlarged ovary. My left side is something like 10 cm's larger than the right. It is from the medication. My left side always responds better. It hurts every once and a while.
