I am at the tail end of the DE process but I am here for you if you have any questions or just need someone to vent!!
I was 30 when we found out my eggs were shit. so that was really hard to take. from that point it took 6 months just to look at donors and pick which program/clinic we wanted. From the time we decided to move forward until the time our cycle started, it was 3ish months. We used a local donor at our clinic, so timing in a way was easy as far as fresh donors go. Sometimes it take a little while to get timing of your cycles down. I lucked out because my donor wanted to finish before she graduated college in May, so our clinic got things moving quickly.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Also check out the IVF with Donor Eggs group on DS... not very active, but full of lots of good info from past discussions.
I just thought I'd reach out on your post as well. My doctor actually introduced me to a patient of his that is currently pregnant with twins via donor. She told me from the time they picked the donor to the transfer date was two months. My office doesn't have a waiting list though. They constantly have donors coming and going on their site, so I try not to even look yet because when I see one I like she is gone in a matter of days. We don't potentially start until June though due to the grant we applied for, so it's way to early to even look. When are you thinking of starting?
My daughter from DE is now 4 months old. It was about 2 months from when we picked a donor to transfer. Our first transfer worked but sadly ended in m/c at 6 weeks. Then we did an FET as soon as we could, which was another 2 months and that was successful. We picked our donor through an online database fairly quickly. I choose someone who had the same hair and eye color and body type as me.
I understand the rollercoaster of emotions you are going through. If you ever want to chat or if you have any questions just ask. :-)
