I have been taking Clomid for 4 months now (2 months at 50mg a day, 1 month at 100 mg a day, & this last month at 150 mg a day...next month will be 200 then 250 if I don't conceive before then.) This is the first month I am using an OPK...so before now we've just been having intercourse every other day from day 8-20 (my Dr. told us to do so on days 14-18 but I figured extending the time couldn't hurt.)
Anyway...the first month I took Clomid I did not start my period on time nor did I conceive so my Dr. force started AF with Provera and I finally had an extremely heavy AF on cycle day 42 that lasted for 4 days. Then the 2nd month I was on Clomid I started AF on day 27 of my cycle...it lasted 3 days and was a little bit lighter of a flow. Then after the 3rd round of Clomid I started AF on cycle day 33 but this time it only lasted 2 days and was extreeeeemely light...just spotting basically. (before ever starting Clomid this is what my periods always were like...only lasting 1 to 2 days TOPS and would only spot very light pink.) I just finished my 4th round of Clomid a few days ago, I'm on cycle day 9 today so I have a few weeks to see how AF acts this month (if I don't conceive *fingers crossed for a BFP*) But could the fact that I only spotted lightly for 2 days mean that I didn't actually ovulate with this last round? Ugh I hope to see an Lh surge soon with these OPK's! I'm not sure why I didn't use OPK's before now other than my Dr. telling me not to waste my time and just to have intercourse on the schedule she mentioned but I just don't see why I wouldn't try to pinpoint ovulation! If for nothing else than to at least see if I'm even ovulating at all!

The OPK increases your chances of conceiving..in my opinion! Only because you are more aware of when you are ovulating, which then gives you the green light to have sex every other day after that in order to try to fertilize the egg. I have only been on clomid one month, however my doctor had told me that because every woman is different it is good to use the OPK to try to figure out when my ovulation day would occur. And instead of ovulating on between days 12-16 I actually ovulated on day 20...so if it wasnt for the OPK I would have totally missed my chances. I hope this helps!

See that's kind of what I thought, I was very confused when she told me not to waste my time with them and to just follow her schedule...because you're right every woman is different! A friend of mine used Clomid to get pregnant and found out with OPK's that she ovulates on day 9 of her cycle! ...and if I would have used OPK's before now I wouldn't be questioning whether or not I ovulated last month. At least I'm using them now...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
