This sounds so, so ,sooo much like my Mum.
I live 6000miles away from her, and in all honesty is just isn't far enough sometimes.
My mother believes I'm not infertile and that all people have a degree of Turner's syndrome(I was diagnosed mosaic in june).
Everytime anyone asks me about how I'm doing when she's here(which is a lot) then she butts in with this:
"well it's only statistics and they don't mean anything because not everyone in the world is tested for Turner's syndrome, so there's no way to know how it effects you" etc etc.
This is very frustrating and rather embarrassing at times.
My mother also goes on about how fat I am..because it's not 1950's post-war starvation thin, it's fat!
She's such a bitch, I walk about 12-16miles a week, go to pilates and aerobics/torture classes and I eat only proper healthy food, I'm obsessed and refuse to eat anything with chemicals, too much fat, too much sugar, oh yes that's because I'm an adult...someone please tell our parents, WE ARE GROWN UPS, WHO NEED SUPPORT, NOT PUT DOWNS AT EVERY TURN!!!
(But, I am 10lbs over weight for the average 5ft7 woman, so I'm a lazy sleep all day chocolate munching coke drinking monster, accorrding to Mum)*SCREEEEMMMMS of Frustration*
Then of course the whole; well what if I have it?
That was my mother's actual response to my sobbing on the phone to her that "I just can't have kids because I have a birth defect".
My mum's never had a miscarriage, she's 60 and finsihed menopause a couple of years ago.
She does not have turner's to any degree.
Man Im pissed off about her.
I got a diagnosis that explains so much about me that I actually felt relief that for onc emy mother might actually accept this is who I am and it's okay..nope, statistics don't count and I'm alive so that proves I'm very strong and better and more healthy than all the babies with Turner's who never survive.
Wow, then there's my mother in law who also knows about us going to do IVF.
HAH!!!
I got this leccture from her bitch face three times now...
"you aren't doing your wifely duties, this house deserves a family, my son deserves a family, you have that disgusting attitude just like someone I used to know, you'd have an abortion before you had a kid, I know it's just because you don't want to, well it's not good enough, my son deserves better than you."
Of course this was all one on one, and she only ever talks about babies, people giving birth, pregnancy...she's 70 and is talking about people who were born 40 years ago, this is not a loving woman and I am not buying that she has suppressed her life's passion of everything pregnant for 3 years of knowing me to only go on and on everytime I'm around.
BITCHES ARE EVERYWHERE, sometimes they're related to us too.
Well, on the up, my uncle's sister in law, she had IVF and gave me a great piece of advice yesterday;
"Negativity will come from the oddst of places, you really have to just let it go and focus on everything positive you can do to achieve your goal".
I'm trying.
This is after her knowing about both of my miscarriages and the fact I am infertile and we are about to start IVF.
Yes, must just be my bad attitude then.
I feel compelled to mention I have not broken her nose...well done me, taking the high road.
