1.As for the ovulation kit, I used them on Clomid and they accurately detected my ovulation. Some conditions like PCOS can cause them not to work right.
2. You want to use the OPK's to find your LH surge. I took Clomid CD 5-9 and started using OPK's on CD 12. Your surge can happen anytime after that and usually before CD 21 so you want to test.
3. I got really sick on my second cycle of Clomid. I had a UTI and got a cold. I got a BFN, but not because I was sick. However, because of the UTI, I had a hard time with my OPK's because I was always going to the bathroom!
The biggest problem I had with Clomid was the side effects from it. I had headaches, nausea, and moodiness. Just be prepared!
I hope this helps some.
My Dr. told me to use an OPK when on the clomid so we would know exactly when to do my IUI. He also did ultrasounds. He did warn me that clomid can make you ovulate at a different than normal time if you are pretty regular. It really didn't change me that way either. Good luck and I hope it works well for you!!
