O.K. ladies this is my first cycle and first day taking clomid and injectibles. Is there any words of advice to remember to make this go a bit smoother. I was already told to take clomid before bed, Ice tummy before injectibles...Anything else???

I agree with Jakeswife, if you are doing something like Follistim, the needles are really small and honestly don't hurt. If you let them come to room temp before you use it, like she said..it is no problem. I have never had to ice my stomach prior to the shots...it was more a fear of actually giving myself the shot that was the worst thing. Best of luck to you!!

you are on the same combo i am.... Words of advise.... Dont dread it you wont feel the shots I've never iced my belly and hubby gives me the shots makes him feel like he is doing his part. I found it helpful to set the alarm on my watch so I could make sure the injections were the same time every night. My dr gave me this awesome black pouch that has a place for my needles, my vial of gonal f, alchol wipes, little round bandaids, and a little travel sharp container for my used needles... It has been a life saver....

OK the injectibles are WAY easy...I didn't think they would be and I was worried myself, but the needle is so small and short that it hurts more to pinch your skin up then it does to put the needle in!

I gave mine in my thigh I was too afraid in the belly...but with the needle being that small, I could of done it anywhere.

The tip I do have though...is say you have a 300 IU pen...it will only dispense 300 IU, BUT there is at least another 100 IU in there...so if you need to take that last 100 IU then you'll need to get a syringe from your RE to pull the rest of the medication out. Even though that needle is short it is a little thicker...so you may want to ice it before you have to use the syringe...the first time I didn't and it hurt...the 2nd time I did, I didn't feel a thing LOL :) SOOOOO...if you go to another needle to pull out the rest of the meds...I recommend you ice for at least 15 min.

Other than that...I was fine, no side effects, nothing that bothered me at all! It was a great experience and I had 8 follies growing which was huge!!!
