Hi all,

As many of you may know, I have ben a long term member here on DS. The 28 of Feb this year marks 10 years of trying to conceive and I am finally looking at ending treatment and moving on (definitely not an easy thing to say).

I looked on DS to see if there is an area for us who are thinking about or have chosen to move on but couldn't see one, so I thought I may start it...

I know many of you are new here and are not ready, but if you are thinking about it would you like to have a group created for this?

Let me know!

Does anyone know if there is a group - or know of anyone who is willing to share when adoption isn't an option? We've looked into it and it's really not such a simple process. Sometimes it can be expensive and it takes time.. we aren't ruling it out right now, but it's not always "the easy fix"...(I don't mean to sound negative!)

Side note I was shopping for kids toys today with my dad to have when our friends come over with their kids, and I'm sure there was a pang there when he was thinking why aren't i shopping for toys for own my kids....

Sorry for the delay in reply! DS doesn't have a group for those of us moving on (nor are they going to create one at this time) so I am going to set a member led one up over the next couple of days and send you invites.

Hi KAdunn, i agree with your motto that having kids isn't everything. My husband really has helped me accept that, and while we are still early on in our journey, it's something that he is constantly reminding me. Not every couple (or woman) is meant to have kids, and that's ok.

I really like the idea of this group because I feel like i will get to talk to other people who have accepted their decision to stop doing everything they can to have a child.

On the other hand, since joining this group, i feel like i'm starting to tune into my own feelings on this subject and it's really hard sometimes! Some days i'm totally fine, and others i just think i'm disappointing everyone!
