I have a question. I went to my RE yesterday and have 4 really good follies going on. 2 of which are just about ready and if I wanted I could trigger today and do my IUI on Friday. BUT he also gave me the option of doing more Gonal-f shots to make the other 2 grow more before my trigger and of course I took that option so this way I'd have 4 follies by the time the IUI comes.
ANYWAY...my question is this...my cycles are usually 31 days, so he started me on meds on day 4 (instead of 3 like I usually do) - and by the time I trigger I will already be at CD18 with the IUI on CD20. Isn't that too late? I mean I totally TRUST my RE he and his office are WONDERFUL, but I just wanted to see how late some of you had your IUI's in your cycle. I also have to do OPK's till Sat. when I trigger just in case I get a surge before in which he'll have me come in 24 hrs after surge. So far NO surge at all, not even close...so maybe it will be fine?

Day 21 for me. Seemed really late to me too - but I've never ovulated on day 14! Good luck to you! Yay FOUR!!!

If AF usually comes 14 DPO for you then you should still have a 14 day luteal phase even though you'll be ovulating later. It should work out fine. Good luck this cycle with those 4 follies!

for me, it is usually always CD16 out of a 28 day cycle

I wish I had an answer for you. sounds like you have a good Dr. My Dr. never asked about when my period came or cycle length. I too get my period every 30-31 days. Does that matter if you do meds on day three or four? As you read, he had me do trigger after only six days of meds. On cycle day 9? Who knows. I would ask him. But since if have a long cycle of 31 days I think it would be okay. Oh! I live in West Hollywood off of Melrose. What size are your follies now? You just don't want to ovulate spontaneously early. If follies get to big, I was told that can happen. It is good you are doing OPK's. What was your E2 level? four big follies would be wonderful!

Honestly I dont think it matters. These are not technically "real" cycles. They are medically induced. Our dr's are looking for when our bodies will respond to the meds. I was told in a class I had to take that some women only take a few shots while others have to take them for the whole month just depends on your response. So dont worry!:) Your 4 follies will look great. Hoping and praying for your BFP!!!
