Hello everyone!
First of all, I must say that I am so very thankful!! I am now 44 and I have wonderful parents (who are getting older of course, and I can't think of anything that I would not want them to see more than a grandchild - it would be the first), brothers and a great hubby and they are all an amazing support system, in addition to my Faith that is a must!!! However, since this is something that is totally out of my control, we still can't decide - should we keep trying naturally and hope for another positive HPT, which went away as quickly as it occured or go with another doc for a second round of IVF??? Fortunately, the only factor is my age ( a big one), but my hubby and I have no other medical issues. I have had plenty of time to think and consult with the doc and I have another appt. with her this week before we decide. My main hesitation is a financial one, because IVF is not covered at all under our insurance and I am trying to pay off my credit card bill before it gets out of control, so I have been thinking about all of our options. I still can never imagine leaving this world someday without having a child and I am still trying to wrap my mind around adopting and how I would really feel about that and its financial implications. And of course, it seems like everyone is having babies - but I know that is not true, of course. Just trying to think out loud and pray that the answer comes very soon:)!!

We recently found out we will only really be able to conceive through ICSI. This was a huge shock and we have talked about all options. The final one we spoke about was adoption and since them I have thought about it more and more. My partener asked me what it was about being a mother I wanted to experience etc and my answers were more about passing of knowledge and morals and to be able to care for and nuture a child. Although I think that it would be amazing to see a little person with mine and my partners genes that is not as important as being a mother to a child.
It is a big and tough decision to make but adoption is a real possibility for me and you should think about what about being a mother would be important to you.
