Ive booked myself in for a therapeutic hair session August 1st and am really looking forward to having nice new hair.
I know when your pregnant they say not to dye your hair so I scheduled it right before AF is due.....and my IVF cycle starts.
But it suddenly occurred to me maybe I'm not supposed to dye my hair that close to IVF??

I really really want it done, just as a pick me up and who knows when I will get to do it next, fingers crossed not for another nine months?

Definitely go ahead and dye your hair, will have no effect on your IVF cycle. I would also check with your hairdresser, but I am pretty sure they have safe dyes now for your hair during pregnancy. If you get your BFP and are still nervous then just wait until you are out of your first trimester. Go ahead and enjoy yourself, a therapeutic hair session sounds amazing!

i have done a lot of research and it says that its safe to dye ur hair during pregnancy.

My OB said not to dye my hair during pregnancy, but I have read conflicting articles. I decided I won't do it if I get pregnant, just to be on the safe side.

I dyed my hair before IVF. Although I will say that I asked them to dye it closer to my natural hair color. This worked well because now 6 months in, I still have few roots.

The Dummy's Guide to Pregnancy says that hair dyes today are much safer than they used to be and that it's ok to use them. I still have aired on the side of being overly cautious - but stopping the dye after the IVF. :-)

Im going to have my hairdresser do it all in foils because it doesnt really come in contact as much as it does when you jusy dump the dye on your head...the only problem is the fumes, they might bother a prego lady and also pregnancy can make the color not how it normally looks...i usually do a brown w dark dark red lowlights but i am going to skip the red for the fear that it might turn fire engine red lol

Thanks guys, gonna go for it since my IVF cycle wont have even started by then and always try to go for a minimal roots style anyway so I will be ok with leaving it for as long as possible if the best happens. At that point I wont care about my hair haha

There are dyes that are safe, and using foils make it even safer, because there's extremely limited contact with the direct scalp. You should be fine.

I dyed my hair right before my IVF and that way I was able to touch up my roots after my first trimester. I'd read that it was more dangerous in the first trimester and my perinatologist okayed my getting my hair colored after the first trimester.

I went to comsmetology school. It is completely safe to color your hair.
