I'm not far behind...I'm 40. I've been talking to a couple others on here...also in their early 40s...one is 43. You're not too old :))))) Hoping some will share success stories with you!
I do have a friend (not on DS) who knows a woman who struggled with infertility for years and had miscarriages. And then had several healthy children while she was in her 40s :)))))

This girl on my RE's facebook page is using her MIL as a surrogate and she's 51. I know it's not the same but I thought that was amazing!!

I don't know if I count and maybe you don't want to hear my story. I'm closer to mid-forties but I didn't have success with three iui's and three ivfs. I did get preggo last year with donor eggs but lost the pregnancy due to an incompetent cervix at 19 weeks. I just finished a frozen embryo transfer and it seems like this cycle may be successful. Blood test is Monday.

I tried everything I could with my own eggs, even natural therapies including acupuncture and herbs. In the end, we did everything we could (six years) and realized we couldn't spend anymore money and time to not be successful. We got tired of putting our lives on hold. We never had started the process of adopting and we couldn't wait any longer, so we went the donor route. When I lost my daughter she felt like my own and I wish I had gone the donor route sooner.

That being said, everyone has to make choices that work for their own situation.Everyone's body, financial situation and infertility issues are different. I'm 41.... Personally I feel like its harder to find similar stories to mine on DS...,so while I love the girls on here I admit I'm cheating on DS with Babycenter, lol. The irony here of course I'd that were probably more prepared and patient as women, who would make great moms! I decided for myself long ago that I needed help on this journey, as my uterus (fibroid issues) was not being cooperative. I am now 47 and using a surrogate and hopefully will choose a donor soon. While it certainly is not anyone's first choice to create a family this way, it's all I have to work with and we're willing to give it two tries. For us, it was important to create boundaries around the process. I wish you all the best!!

Hey I will be 42 in September... Not sure if I will do IVF, I am thinking about it.

I was 40 with our first IVF (Sucessful) and will be 43 in October. We had a succesful IVF in march but lost the baby at 6 weeks. We will be trying again.
