I do have a friend (not on DS) who knows a woman who struggled with infertility for years and had miscarriages. And then had several healthy children while she was in her 40s :)))))
I tried everything I could with my own eggs, even natural therapies including acupuncture and herbs. In the end, we did everything we could (six years) and realized we couldn't spend anymore money and time to not be successful. We got tired of putting our lives on hold. We never had started the process of adopting and we couldn't wait any longer, so we went the donor route. When I lost my daughter she felt like my own and I wish I had gone the donor route sooner.
That being said, everyone has to make choices that work for their own situation.Everyone's body, financial situation and infertility issues are different. Randine Lewis does a lot of good work for women over forty and yes there are women over 40 who have gotten pregnant. http://www.thefertilesoul.com/randine-lewis-infertility-cure.php
There are all kinds of families out there. Hoping that everyone's dreams come true and wishing ya'll the best!
