Ladies, any ideas on how to get money for IVF?
I had an epiphany last night and thought, I will just withdrawal from my retirement. Well, that hope didn't last long. I have well over the amount I need in my retirement BUT I have to take a loan out in order to get the money and my monthly payment to pay back into my 403b is like another car payment!! I would need that money monthly to go towards childcare if we conceived.
I also was hoping that maybe my medical insurance would at least cover the cost of meds and monitoring but they do not.
Any ideas?

What did you say your insurance was again? I didn't think mine would cover meds and monitoring and they did. Also there is freedom fertility for meds. They seem to have lower prices. It took us 2 years to save for IVF.

Look for coupons for meds on the manufacturers website. Our insurance covered it because of the state the plan was written in but the savings was nice.

I'm in the same boat. I want to drain our savings (which is for the actual child), but the hubby reminds me then we won't have money for day care. So we began saving for IVF. We are about half way there, and if we get close then we will take a couple grand out of savings. But our plan is just to limit spending, keep saving, and only go forward with cycles when we have the money. It's so hard because waiting SUCKS! But, I know we will be happy when we aren't stressed and broke with a little one.

I am in school to get my master's degree, and used student loan money along with loans from my parents. My parents don't have alot, so I have to work on paying them back, but they understood enough to try their best. We are ones who spent everything we had getting here, and now with twins on the way are really struggling to figure out how to afford childcare. But i wouldn't change anything. Good luck!

There are some grants out there and a few non profits etc. Worth googling and applying to those.

This is one that was started in conjunction with my old clinic, not sure if you have to be a patient there, but I am thinking not.

@ ktk7779413, I have Atena. I called and spoke with a few different ppl. I wish they did at cover the meds at least.

We are going to figure it out one way or the other. There is way.

You might want to read up more on ACA "Health Care Reform" policies, as I believe it is now required to include coverage for infertility. Maybe switching insurance would be an option?
