We did all the testing and blood work.2 IUIs and only racked up about 7000 in debt. My second round of Clomid at 10 dollars a pop worked. We smiled at each other and said just think for 20 dollars we could've had a baby. Who would've thought? We don't care its all going to be worth it in the end.

At my RE's office they save up all the bills to pay at the end of the cycle. So after my FET failed I had to stand in line to pay a $1200 bill, crying because it hadnt even worked.

We've been prepaying everything, which feels lik a rip off to me. If the proceedure doesn't work we should either get our money back, or get the next one free. Seriously a return policy on defective proceedures would be nice.

for those of you paying out-of-pocket, some re's offices offer a risk/loss program where you receive a certain percentage of your out-of-pocket cost if the procedure fails. check into this! its almost like they are gauranteeing their work.

Last 2 years out of pocket after ins has been about 18,000 dollars. About 4 grand still left to pay back

We started out by my husband having a failed vasectomy reversal in 2007 and moved on to IVF in February of this year fresh cycle did not work for us but we got BFP with frozen! A total cost for everything has been about $30,000.

So far, DH and I spent $12,000 for IVF. We did 3 cycles but paid for 1 since the other 2 were canceled before we went to ER. The procedure was $7000 and I paid about $5000 for meds(for all 3 cycles) and S/A(DH insurance didnt kick in yet)! And got NOTHING!!!

DH sees that as a "waste" sometimes. He feels that if it didnt work the first time, why "waste" money again. Then there's days when he is cool with doing IVF again to have a baby....He has very mixed feelings about the whole process.

I will look into the "money back for unsuccessful IVF cycles" b/c it would be nice to get at least half the money back when it doesnt work! These RE's gotta be living "NICE" with the money we spend.

Not to be a downer, but we have paid nearly 80,000 over the course of five IVFs plus IUIs prior to that plus some surgery costs that weren't covered by insurance. The last two IVFs were at the famous CCRM, which is the number one clinic in the country and they also charge more than anyone else (nearly 20K per cycle). I'm currently in the two week wait with this last IVF and honestly, if it works, I hope I can just forget about the money spent.

Thanks ladies and nanda1979 I do understand that it's worth it, yet sometimes we you have those low months of nothing working but the doctor's get their cut every month. It gets frustrating!!

All 2 gether we spent around 20,000 for IVF, but we did end up with a gift from GOD who I am thankful 4 every second of the day. DH and I had tried for over 5yrs and he was able to enjoy her for 15 months until cancer took him from us. Now it is just Aubrey and I would pay a million $$ because I will always have a part of him. I pray that everyone will have the gift of mother hood which ever way you choose 2 go.
