I started taking Armour Thyroid about 3 months ago. The first month I didn't really have any symptoms, but then I started getting tension headaches every day. When they weren't going away, I talked to my doctor about it. She said I could be allergic to something in the Armour Thyroid, so she had me go off it for a couple of days and then go back on it and only take half a pill. I actually went off for 3 days and then started taking half a pill. This past Monday and Tuesday (especially Tuesday) I had the worst tension headache ever! I had to take the day off work and try to relax. Wednesday (yesterday) I decided not to take the Armour Thyroid and I didn't take it today either. I haven't had as bad of tension headaches! I still have a very very small headache, but it's nothing compared to the bad headache I had pretty much all day on Tuesday!
Has anyone else taken Armour Thyroid (or any thyroid med)? What was your reaction to it?

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
sorry i don't have any advice about the headaches in particular - i would definitely keep your doctor up to date, and if you haven't already tried synthetic thyroid medications (like levothyroxine), it might be worth a try. good luck!
Funny thing is that when I first started seeing my current doctor (summer 2009), I got blood work done and my thyroid was just slightly lower than normal. The numbers were so close to normal that she really didn't think it was a big problem, so she didn't give me any thyroid meds. Just about 3 months ago, she decided that maybe I should take something for my thyroid, and ever since then I've been getting headaches. I was just fine before. It's crazy what prescriptions do to your body!
