Hi, ladies!

So this post is for those of us who would like to hear about women who have recently gotten their BFP and/or just had a baby. I know some people are afraid to post it on here because they don't want to upset others who are still struggling, but I'm looking for some hope, and I'm sure there are other ladies who are as well.

I am still in my two week wait; I will find out on Friday the results of the pregnancy test. Ironically enough, this is the day before my sister's baby shower, which I will be co-hosting. So, I'm scared the result will be negative, and I'll be a miserable mess at her shower when I really don't want to be. I want to be happy for her!

And my sister is a success story; she went through infertilty before she got pregnant (although she hasn't been dealing with it for as long as I have so that stings a bit). She got pregnant on her 2nd cycle of Clomid with an RE after trying for a year and a half. My DH and I have been struggling for 3 1/2 years now, but we only recently got help from an RE (I got testing done and was on Clomid through an OB/GYN but put everything on hold for a year when my DH left his job due to a bad back).

I am now on my third cycle of Clomid (first was a chemical pregnancy and the second was a BFN). If this cycle doesn't work, we'll have to put everything on hold again because my DH was having back troubles so his new job let him go. Not sure when we'll be able to start again, but we'll probably move onto IUI once we can.

So, if anyone is willing to share their success stories, I'd be glad to hear them! And for those of you who find it too painful, feel free to ignore this post. I would love to hear from women who have been struggling for awhile and finally got their miracle, but I'd also be glad to hear from those who got lucky much quicker than expected. Thanks, girls! :)

I had no success with my four IUIs (all cancelled because DH's numbers sucked). Went on to IVF and had success on the first try (so far - IF teaches you not to count your chickens too soon, sadly). I'm 8 weeks today.

Hi! My husband and I have been married for 13yrs. We started trying right after we got married. Well in 2009 we were took my husband's sperm count was very low and our only chance would be to do IVF. So we went through that whole IVF thing in 7/09 and got pregnant and then lost the baby 3 weeks later. So in 11/09 we decide to do an IUI with donor sperm. We couldnt afford to do IVF again. And in 12/09 we got our positive pregnancy test! And in 7/2010 our son was born. He came 5 weeks early but was healthy and beautiful. He is 2 years old now! Good luck in your journey :)

There were quite a few in the November/December IVF thread, I believe over 40%, which is the national average for IVF (dang science, why couldn't it be 100%!?!?).

Most posted in their journal instead of on the board, but a few also posted on the board. I think a few of the girls who didn't like the BFP's left the board for safer territory. It was so sad to see a few fights a few months ago. Then again, I know my hormones are raging and I have said my share of slightly misworded posts too (oops, hope anyone that I ever upset can forgive the beast inside me...swear it wasn't me!).

I love the idea of keeping this thread open so we can cheer each other on and only open this thread on days we feel up to hearing success stories. I only ask that people include some background (types of if problems, surgeries, meds, or treatments, number of years or cycles...etc. so we take it into perspective.). I mean who has low egg reserve? Who has endo? Unexplained? Tilted uterus? Other issues? I really believe these details can give us hope...

I am currently 6 months pregnant with our miracle. We tried for 4 years. DH has very low count, motility, and morphology which made IUI not an option. He has surgery 10/10. We spent the next year taking BBT, charting days, scheduling sex.... all to be disappointed every month. 10/11 we found out surgery didn't improve much at all and our only option was IVF with ICSI. We scrimped and saved. My brother in law and his wife announced their second unplanned pregnancy in 2 years (they are much younger than us, too.). I was finally desperate enough to ask my folks to help with a loan. After several months of yanking me around, they finally agreed to help. We started treatment in May, had some set backs, but finished with a single BFP in Aug. I am thrilled that it worked the first time, but it is still bittersweet as we transferred 2 embryos, but only one took, and we didn't have any to freeze.

My RE and his wife (who is now my OB) did 6 fresh, full rounds of IVF to get their 2 children. I think that makes them both amazing doctors in this field. I couldn't have made it without such a compassionate doctor.

I hope your DH can get back to work soon, and stay healthy so y'all can move forward. The waiting is absolutely the hardest part. Prayers for you and your future family!!

Hey! I was diagnosed with stage IV endometriosis over 4 years ago. My OB at that time told me that she thought my only chance at having a child was through IVF. I was devastated at that time because I was not in a serious relationship and already being told that I might not be able to have children. Fast forward 4 years and after my husband and I had tried for over a year naturally and with 3 IUI's while on Clomid we decided to go the IVF route. Of course, our insurance pays nothing for infertility so we sold one of our cars to be able to pay for the cost of IVF. I am happy to say that after our first IVF cycle I am now almost 10 weeks pregnant with twins.

I was so scared to do IVF, but honestly it wasn't that bad. The cost stinks and the unknown part stinks, but the shots and monitoring were not as bad as I thought they would be. I hope this cycle works for you, but if it doesn't, please don't give up hope! Hoping to hear a success story from you soon!

Endowife, that would be great if we could keep this thread open for stories of hope. And it would definitely help if people can explain their type of IF, how long they've been trying, and what treatments worked. As for whether or not you want to hear about other women's BFPs largely depends on where you're at in your cycle and/or on your IF journey. So true about the hormones too, lol.

I have PCOS, which I have been told is not as bad as some other IF issues, but sometimes it still seems like it'll never happen. For those of you who have finally had success, I'm sure it's often hard to believe! Best wishes to you all for happy and healthy pregnancies! Thanks for your words of hope and encouragement. Sending baby dust to the rest of you girls who are still trying! :)

I would like to provide encouragement and let it be known that it can happen.. I was diagnosed with ovarian failure. I was only given a two percent chance to conceive. After being married for 6 years we conceived with our first IUI. A true miracle!!! 34 weeks pregnant at this time.

Wow.. its really inspiring to read about success stories.. we need our DS sisters who successfully completed the journey to guide the rest of us with words of hope and encouragement, and so it really helps like what others have mentioned to talk about the problems that you faced before you got your BFP and how you defeated it.

Anyhow Danielle, I hope that you get a BFP on friday, I too am waiting to test on Friday after my 1st IUI, fingers crossed, although I did get a false alarm of spotting.. Im hoping that it would still work out for me..

I love the success that others have had, and i love the idea of also sharing their struggle :-) It goes give a glimmer of hope, and it's done here in a way that we can read when we need the hope or add on when we have our own success! Wishing all you ladies tons of baby dust *****
