I believe accupuncture played a big part in my current pregnancy. I highly recommend it. If nothing else, you get 1-2 hours a week alone in a quiet room to just relax and collect yourself, which in itself has to help!!

I, too, love acupuncture and completely believe in alternative paths of healing.

My acupuncturist combines needles, cupping, and herbs to treat my infertility and stress. I've seen positive effects in my digestion, sinuses, and stress levels thus far. My only complaint is the expense. However, walking out of that office makes it worth it every time!

I tried acupuncture and didn't really like it, but still glad I gave it a try. I think it is helpful for some people in managing stress and relaxation. For me, it just wasn't my thing but I did meditation instead.

I have PCOS and have been really thinking about this!!!! Do you know how long do you have to do this? I am NOT a big fan of needles at all and it makes me nervous! Heard good things about it though!

I JUST today made my first appointment for treatment- I have had acupuncture with a super trained practitioner in the past which was AMAZING....I think it is important to find seek someone who has had experience in IF- this woman does- she uses herbs and or needles- I will let you know how it all goes. I am pretty excited for my first session- it gave me a sense of being in action with the whole rollercoaster-have no control over this process- anxiety I have been experiencing. I think the more players you have on your side, the better......

I have been doing acupuncture for over a year and have had tremendous success with it. The first three months were tough (I got worse before I got better). After that though, I had the most normal cycles I have had in years and the hot flashes and night sweats I was having went away completely.

For those just starting acupuncture, I would recommend looking for an acupuncturist certified by the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine. You can find a link to their site at www.healinginfertility.blogspot.com under "Support for Fertility."

If you go to that blog, click on the blog tab, and scroll down, I think there's a study on there specifically about acupuncture and PCOS (showing great results). Also, the needles are very small and when done right you should not really experience any pain.
