Two hours isn't long enough to wait to see if other people have that problem. How did you find out about the abnormal karyotype, and in what context? Did you have an amniocentesis on a current pregnancy, or was it a test on a miscarried baby? An abnormal karyotype just means that the chromosomes were abnormal, and there are a lot of different kinds of chromosome problems.

I just looked at your journal. I can't comment on the details of your karyotype, but it sounds as though you have a translocation? Is that right? You said you have a 25% chance of having an unaffected baby. If that is the case, your best shot might be to do something called PGD (Prenatal Genetic Diagnosis), where you do IVF and they test the maturing embryos to see which ones are affected and which ones have the normal chromosome makeup.

I would recommend that you sit down with a genetic counselor to discuss the details of your genetic problem as well as your likelihood of successful conception/pregnancy.

It is my karyotype and yes I do have a translocation. Or they rearranged themselves. I think I have one breakpoint with possible damage if that makes sense?

Yes I wish to speak to a genetic counsler however they only come around one time a month in my town. WHich is tomarrow and I cant get through to her so I may have to wait until next month.
