Yes, they've done every test and blood work. My follicles are growing. Every time I've taken clomid and the injections, I have 2 follicles. And yes I am ovulating on my own. I've even tried acupuncture.
Is anyone's husband or bf dreading father's day? It's not even on my husband's radar which is good, b/c i'm more upset for him than for myself. But i concur with hopeful - if you have any ideas.. In my particular case its for me to not feel like a total failure in his eyes.
DH and I have been trying for about 6 years with no luck. I've tried a round of Clomid, which made me want to check into the insane asylum. I don't ovulate regularly so I never know what's going to happen. I also have PCOS. My DH was tested two months ago but the Dr. never gave us the results. She could have been waiting for me to have an HSG done before giving us all the info/options but it's still concerning. Friday I had my first HSG and found out that my left fallopian tube is blocked. So the doc says "well, at least you have a 50% chance." but I can't find the hope in that yet. We have an appt next month to go over all the results and talk about options. This week it's hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel.
Some days I go back and fourth on if we should even continue this journey. Maybe it's just not meant to happen. Other days I don't let it get to me but since I just had the HSG done it's hard to feel optimistic. Thanks for reading, love and hope to all.
You can call the lab that did your husband's analysis and get the results directly from them. They cannot withhold them from you. Have you thought about getting a second opionion? Your doctor sounds like a #*@&. I recently requested a copy of my medical records (again, they have to give them to you) and got a second opinion. I am really glad I did. The new one literally spent over an hour with me going thru everything and listening to my concerns. Infertility is hard and we need compassion and understanding.
lilie315,
Yes, I am dreading father's day too! My husband would be such an amazing father. I feel incredibly sad that I have not been able to make him a father yet. He seems to be handling it better than I am.
moonbeams - your response interested me b/c i always thought that after a SA there's not so much left for DH to do. What other things should I bring up to my Dr? I feel like i have to run show b/c they just wanted to start me on meds without finding out what my body is or is not doing it on it's own, so i feel like the more knowledge i have, the better.
Thanks everyone!
I had obvious issues (PCOS then later found out hypothyroidism). But once I was treated for both and was ovulating, I still wasn't getting pg. DH was tired a lot, often taking naps when he got home from work. When the dr asked if there were any symptoms with DH we hadn't brought up, including fatigue, we both said yes to that. (There are others I don't remember, sorry). That's when they ordered the thyroid tests. I had miscarriages after that, so it probably helped a bit with his sperm when he was on the thyroid supplements. Months later the dr ordered testosterone bloodwork - free and total testosterone. Free was still technically in range, though on the low side, and total was low. (Again, his SA was "perfect"). He has been on T cream for 4 months and will be retested next week. I have had other health issues come up since then that have prevented us from conceiving. Once those get taken care of I feel we will finally have a shot. If you are going to request further testing, just do both thyroid and T at the same time. For DH there were other things going on so it was only one thing at a time. But he now has both tested at the same time to make sure they're both on track.
