Do you know if they will do this test if you are on your period? I am scheduled to have surgery on May 8th to remove a cyst and they are going to go ahead and do the HSG at the same time. Well...I am looking at my calender here and I should start my period that same week. I would assume if it was a problem they would have asked me my cycle date.

I had my HSG after my period but before i ovulated. They do that to ensure you are not pregnant.

When I had mine done the nurse was very insistent about the cycle day. She asked me several times if I was sure it was between CD 7 and 10. She asked so many times, I started to doubt myself ;) Good luck!!

They are doing a pregnancy test on may 5th, so I am wondering if that's why they are not concerned about my next cycle. Just seems kind of weird to have it done if you are on your period. I kind of wonder if they are not that concerned about that part being they are going in to remove the cyst so the HSG is just something "extra" they are doing while I'm under.

I know if i was on my period they would NOT do my lap surgery or my HSG... they tried to force me onto bcp just to have surgery but since i was anxious to start ttc i refused... they only let me because my period would be no where in site for my surgery....
I would say call them and ask... just to make sure... they may want you to go ob bcp just until then to ensure you are not on your period...GL

My doctor would not do an HSG if I had my period. From what they told me, the concern is that the could push some of the blood up through the tubes and cause damage. I agree with NervousP, I would call your doctor to confirm.

I was told to that my HSG had to be between days 1-12 of my cycle. I don't think you can get it done if you have your period. Perhaps call the Dr. or nurse to reschedule, this seems like an error...
