mine was about an 8...... it depends on you though... some ppl say they are fine i thought mine hurt like hell........

They didn't me... I was told to take some ibuprofen.... it didn't help...... not to scare you.... it went away quick (about 15 minutes and most of the pain was gone) and you will make it...... If i can do it so can anyone else

Do you get the results right away?? Or do you have to wait

I had zero pain. I did take a pain pill before my appointment though.

I've had two. I can't remember how much the first one hurt but the second one was pretty bad. I guess I would say a 7-8 while on Vicodin. I strongly suggest taking something first to help in case it is painful for you. I think everyone is different and each experience can be different. I am not sure if it makes a difference if they are blocked or clubbed as far as the pain goes. I knew my results right away because there was a doctor there and they told me. Good luck if you are having one.

And, yes, you do find out your results right away.If your tubes are both open the dye will go right through them, spill out, and you'll be done. Hopefully that will be the case for you!

I had moderate pain afterwards. My doc advised I take an anxiety pill,IBU,and Vicodin beforehand. I have a long extensive history of Endometriosis, so I get "flareups" quite easily. I am sure that the Endo was the culprit of the pain. The procedure itself wasn't too bad.

Mine was tolerable, but on the scale, it was a 6.

It is when the push the dye up, it felt like someone was pumping gel into my organs and I could feel it expand.

It did not last long, it was mostly tolerable.

However, I did get a UTI the day following. Now that SUCKED! The was the first and only one I have ever had and I thought I was gonna die.

When I asked what it was like to have contractions and they kept telling me it was like period cramps...BS, maybe the first few, but after that, yikes. If you want to know how it really felt, I'll tell you, but for now...

I need one done but ya i am to scared LOL. Was suppose to have mine last year. My friend had one and told me about it. Since she told me what she felt and the doctor said you need one i said no way! But as bad as i want a child i need to get it done i just wish they would put u to sleep :( ...On the brite side i have had other friends tell me theys felt no pain. I am jus scared i will be the one to have all the pain lol. Gl with yours!

if this is the same dye test i had, it hurt but only in a way that it felt like someone was blowing a bloon up inside my tummy i could feel it getting bigger and bigger but there was no room for it,they are not cutting you or anything,i was only 18 so many moons ago but god dont let this stop you going to get it done,i would do it again tomrrow if it ment a step closer to being a mum,and to be honest knowing me at 18 i probably never bothered taking a pain killer,good luck

I would have to say a 2. I had my HSG over the summer. I did take to Advil 1 hour before and all I had was some very slight cramping. No pain or anything. Everyone is differentas i have talked to people who have had alot of pain or discomfort. I wish you luck!

My RE thought the clinic would sedate me but they didn't. Very unfortunate for me as it was an 8 or a 9 and they had to stop 3 times since I was writhing in pain. They were able to give me the results right then and there. Best of luck but beg for sedation or some good pain killers. Best of luck...
