When is it appropriate to join the Infertility Support Group? I have been a member of the Trying to Conceive support group but I find myself reading topics in this support group more often now. But when is it appropriate to join? We've been ttc for 9 months and have started the infertility testing. I know many of you have been through so much more than I have but each month for me seems to get harder and harder. I haven't gone through any fertility drugs or treatments yet but I think I need to start educating myself. I never thought I'd have to. Not to say the other support groups aren't supportive and wonderful, but you ladies seem to have an extra special support system from what I've been reading.

I think now is the perfect time. I joined almost a year after we realized we were having issues and started seeing an RE and I wish I had known about this site a long time ago. It has been the BEST place for me to turn to. I have learned more here than I ever did from any doctor. And have met some pretty amazing friends. There is never a stupid question and everyone is so nice and understanding. Come, read, ask, share and learn!! Welcome. I do hope though that your stay in this group is not a long one. I joined when I started going through the infertility tests last October/Novemberish-by then we'd been trying since January 08. I'm starting to learn my options now and making decisions on what we want to do.

Welcome! Infertility is like being on a roller coaster after eating too much and you just want to get off the ride! Let. Me. Off!!!!

It really doesn't matter if you've been ttc for 9 months or five years. You've found the right place to come and vent or to ask questions. These ladies are wonderful. Good luck with your blood work on 3/9. Let us know your results! Wishing you a lots of luck and hope that your battle with IF is a short one!

I was welcomed and every time I have a question or a post at least a few people will respond to it, so that is support if you ask me. Better than asking myself and not getting an answer. The ladies here have been wonderful and each one has their own story and they all touch my heart.

I can honestly say I've never heard anyone ever saying they regretted starting infertility treatment too soon. But I know I sure regretted NOT starting infertility treatments sooner. Besides, it does take a while to kind of learn things and get the hang of the lingo. So welcome, and good luck.

Hi Dawnee!

I joined this group too. These ladies HAVE been wonderful for any questions I've had. I figured that being 35... I'm already considered "advanced maternal age" (how I loathe that term), and that never having been PG before in my life, infertility is a distinct possibility and that I did need to start familiarizing myself with this world too.

I just saw my RE for the first time today and have a bunch of tests to be done with him. I was familiar with the tests because I've read about them here. It felt good to be able to speak intelligently with him re: the test and my options and courses of action... education and being your own advocate is always a good thing!

Welcome Dawn, I hope you stay is a short one before you move on to the pregnancy boards but if not then there are a bunch of us veterens that have been here and done about everything.You will find everything from those doing natural cycles to what I am down to after several IVF attempts (donor embryos)Feel free to ask anything as one of us has surley done,tried it or been tested for it.When I started my journey I didn't have any idea what was going on but I feel so much better with the knowledge I have accquired on here.
