Our first doc told us ICSI would be the option with my diminished ovarian reserve. Well, we trusted and did everything depending on us to accomplish the procedure. But something went wrong and that shot ended with early miscarriage. We were devastated, heartbroken and at least wanted answers why it happened to us. Then our doc turned out to be the person we didn't know before. Yelling, always busy, even rude telling unexplained. So we decided to switch the clinics. Further applied for IVF with donor egg in Biotexcom, Ukraine. That was the place we were desperately seeking! Lovely staff, friendly people, caring docs and nurses - all they contributed to our confidence with the successful program ending.
We all want to be supported while struggling and our RE is the first person to put us at a little bit of piece.
Hugs to all and good luck X
I am sorry that you didnt get the level of care you hoped for. The doctor suggested IVF because he wanted to save you time, in my opinion. Varicocelle surgery might help, but it will take months to see the improvement. what you do is entirely up to you. Some couples do the surgery, have the guy take some supplements and/or Clomid in addition to surgery and repeat sperm analysis. Some get pregnant naturally, others with IUI, some don't. However, it takes time and committment. IVF is faster. The doctors told my husband and I that we can get pregnant naturally, but in reality it is about 3 percent chance to success. It is basically slim to none. In infertility world, time is of the essence. After 5 years of TTC without any success ( low sperm count, abrnomal morphology) will be doing IUI with a donor sperm. I did all the necessary tets on my end but not on my husband. Next year we will be doing IVF with husband's sperm and will have donor as a back up. I wish i didn't waste 5 years hoping to get pregnant naturally. Just my perspective.
