Well, I just heard back from my RE and he has decided that the best bet is going to be for us to do IUI. I am so sick to my stomach right now I can hardly stand it and I am on the verge of tears again. I am scared to death to try this. I dont know that it increases your odds all that much and I really dont want to have to pay for another ultra sound and another shot and the IUI on top of it. I cannot believe he wants to go this route I thought it wouldnt increase our chances enough to even try it. I feel like I want to call him back and tell him I need a month off from this stuff and that I will start again after my next cycle so that I can decide what I want to do. But then I feel like maybe if we dont try we will miss our only chance. What is wrong with me? Why cant I be normal and have a baby? What did I do that was so bad that I am being punished for it now?

Sweetie dont blame yourself. I know it's hard not to! Trust me I do it all the time, but it doesnt help and just makes it all hurt worse. You have to remain as positive as you can. And that is easier said than done I am so sorry you are going through this I wish someone could just snap their fingers and infertility would just dissapear forever no one should have to go through this! I call it my being alive death sentence. Because even though it will not kill me. It is definetly killing me mentally, and emotionally. I hope you get your little miracle soon!

I know the first time you hear that you need fertilty help is little overwhelming. Give yourself time to let it all sink in. IUIs are probably the least invasive fertility treatment you can do. It does increase your chances and there are a lot of factors that determine how much your chances are increased - like how many eggs you have, their quality and your DH's counts.

I don't know if you've done it or not but you may want to check with your insurance to see if the ultrasounds are covered. My insurance doesn't cover anything fertlity but they did cover all my ultrasounds during my IUI cycles. I think it all depends how your doctor's office bills it.

Well, I have been going through treatments for the last 8 months and he had said last month that was going to be it and now this month it isn't. The insurance will cover the ultrasound if I don't get my hcg shot at the same time but I do 99% of the time so I end up having to pay it.

Its so much to take in. I read all these ppl on here and they all seem so on top of things, and I feel so lost. But you are not alone!
I say take a break from it all and give yoursef time to know you are making the right decision. Make an informed decision too. I've done 3 rounds on IUI. Get price, find out how it will work to get the sperm sample, etc. Don't rush, if you do- you will feel stressed and that's not what you need when you do this! Good luck to ya!

My dear girl... I conceived 3 times using IUI. Don't give up hope! Don't worry! I am telling you it does work! I have two sons to show for it! :)

Thanks ladies! I have decided to go ahead and try the IUI this cycle and if it isn't successful then I am going to take a break. I NEED to take a break. So, I am taking this as a sign that I needed to give it one more month and if nothing comes of it then I will start saving up for the surgery my RE thinks would help. He says my ovaries are down behind my uterus and thinks that is part of the problem they aren't up where they are supposed to be.
