Incest Survivors Support Group
Incest refers to any sexual activity between closely related persons that is illegal or socially taboo. Consensual adult incest is very rare. Incest between adults and prepubescent or adolescent children is a form of child sexual abuse that has been shown to be one of the most extreme forms of childhood trauma. If you or a loved one is a survivor of incest, join the group...
It is okay if maybe your grammar isn't perfect. Your words, your compassion, still means just as much as anyone else's. I still take what you have to say seriously. What you have to say is, IS important and it IS valuable.
HUGS!!!!
I've been wondering based on the posts you have written about this if my problems with math are related to the abuse I experienced. I actually feel completely lost about it. Reading and writing are how I have survived emotionally - I used to escape my reality by reading. I think I am good at those things in spite of the abuse happening during that learning phase because I learned early that it was a coping mechanism to lose myself in a story. I loved all the fairy tales because I imagined being rescued by a "prince" - what I was to be rescued from I didn't really think about.
too bad I didn't think about numbers as an escape! math is so hard for me that both my parents have commented on how slowly I calculate. I literally can't do simple math in my head. My mother is now deceased, but when she was living we loved to play gin. She would calculate her points in her head and write them down and I would accuse her of cheating. Then I would check her math and be amazed at how quickly and easily she did it. Now, I work with my dad. He will start reeling off math calculations connected to our work and I just stare dumbly at him and say, whatever you say, Dad, you know I can't do that stuff in my head.
It should not matter and try not to let it worry you. Maybe being a part of this forum will help you feel more confident about writing. I hope so!

I left home at 13 and before that my PTSD was so bad at one point i just stop learning. And my hand writing changed from very pretty to like i was a 5 year old trying to write.......
I can not spell for crap and grammar rules elude me.I guess i could make a huge effort to use spell check and re-read before posting......But gwad that just seems too much work.
Anyone that would care about perfect grammar and spelling in here and take someone less serious for it its a AH....
IMAO not taking someone seriously about their abuse cuase they can't spell and punctuate??? That would be crazy.
Finally, I would like to say..thank god for spell checking.
He always has something wonderful to say, something wise and loving, but it doesn't come out because of his fears over his grammar, etc.
I'd love to see your posts and comments!!
