I m just plain sick over this. I never followed the trial but the bits I heard are horrendous. They said Sandusky called himself the "tickle monster". That's what my father called himself, that is so erie. I am so glad the victims got justice. I am feeling there pain. I wish so badly my freakin father would get put away!!! I feel really horrible that I don't have the same justice. My father was a respected teacher. I always daydream he will be put away!

I think the victims who came forward are SO BRAVE. I followed this case kind of obsessively because it represented the rampant denial and cover-ups that go on. Every time I read something about one of the victims I can't help but think they are so brave.

The first victim to come forward was shunned. He had to switch schools because he got bullied. Nothing happened for years and years.

There were people who fought long and hard to bring justice to this monster of a human being, Jerry Sandusky. They battled the denial and a District Attorney who told them to let it go. I am inspired and amazed at the strength they had to stand up for those powerless boys. They sought out the victims instead of the victims having to come forward and be further wounded. They pressed for law changes. Just yesterday, the law was changed so that experts can testify in child sexual abuse cases to explain the impact child rape has on a child.

All the hard work allowed one of Sandusky's adopted kids to be able to come forward and finally admit that he was abused, too.

They have more victims than the ones who testified and were planning on using them to try him again in case he was aquitted. The officials who covered it up are being charged.

Could this mean that times are changing? God, I sure hope so.

God I sure hope times are changing. Laws need to change! People need to wake up and stop protecting abusers. It is so disgusting that the first investigation was in 1998. My niece was hospitalized 3 years ago with abrasions on her vagina and she still lives with my father who is her abuser. What the f is wrong with the system.

I looked it up, there are more than 100 registered sex offenders within 10 miles of me. Most are child abusers. That's only the ones convicted. We know what a low percentage that is.
