Thanks for the support you guys.There are sexual assault advocacies in my area but the major problem with them is that they are state and federally funded.In order to keep getting grants federally and state wise they have to get the signatures of every police chief in their jurisdiction on their application for these grants.If these advocacies pressure these police departments to do their job and prosecute sex offenders then these chief's of police usually refuse to sign.That is a direct conflict of interest in an advocacies ability to do it's job.This needs to change.We need advocacies that are privately funded so there is no conflict of interest and the police are made to do their job correctly.

And people wonder why there are so many child molesters on the streets, the police have no clue. They think anyone with any kind of mental disorder is violent and could become a mass murderer. Anyone with a mental illness is discriminated against almost everywhere. There is not enough education about it, and not just the police, even if they could understand. It doesn't require a very high IQ to join the police. In some places a high IQ will disqualify you.

I do appreciate that Suz thank you.Abuse has such a deep profound affect on a human being I have no choice in believing that the ones who perpetrate abuse should be punished for their actions.I fully adhere to Newton's law of opposite and equal reactions which I guess some would explain as karma as well.I also believe with how rampant this epidemic of abuse is unless we stand up and fight to turn the tides it is only going to get worse.Everyone I know and every new person I meet in life has been abused.It is the silent undertow that drives every woe in modern society.If we can turn the tides I have no doubt our planet would be a completely different place.

Wheezie - have you looked into rape crisis centers in your area? They often will have experience with their local police and can give advice as to how to have a positive impact on others through channeling your past experiences into an act that will bring about change.

I can relate to what you are saying as police are often doing a crap job of protecting their communities from such - most would rather not think about such abuse occurring or think it is the fault of the victim. But, the only way to deal with ignorance is through education; such acts may make you feel better, but most people would just read the billboard and say "what the *+#@" and drive on - I learned that if you expect the police to assist you in the future, you better not tick them off in the present!
