I had a lot of trauma throughout all my childhood but a lot happened too at age 13.....as an odd coincidence someone sajked me if i thought they had child abuse because when it happened they were 13.....and they had doubts that 13 was still a child......
It hit "home" because i felt that way a lot too for a very long time about what happened to me at 13.....I did not understand that it was not my fault.
And it remind me this vid where Andrew Vachss talks about a 13 year old in the Roman Polanski situation....i thought some of you may find it helpful it was to me...

I think YES. very much so.

Hi Unomas, you should read JAS book, "Whole Again". His major abuse started when he was thirteen, and he struggled with a lot of guilt thinking that he could have stopped it, like he had some kind of choice. He came to see that he was manipulated by a master, and there was really no choice involved.

Yes - 13 is still very much a child, so is 14, 15 and 16 in this sort of situation. After that it is still sexual abuse.

Yes, 13 is still defenitely a child. Can you imagine calling a 13 year old a 'woman'? no, because they're still kids. and, when I was 13, I was still very much a child.

I agree, 13 is a child. My was before I can remember to 18, and all of that is childhood.

I disagree, it depends how much you have been through, in those 13 years and how mature the person is.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
