A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). Although there are conservative alternatives, hysterectomy is performed for uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and cancer.

Pills or Patch?

I am on the patch and having some problems. It fell off and that was awful. A new patch seems to work great but after a day or two I feel tired and weepy.

I am on the patch but am thinking about switching to the pill.

What has been you guys experiences and what has worked well for you? Any advice? thanks bunches.

I am on the patch (Vivelle Dot) and love it. I really don't want to take a pill.

If you scrub your skin with alchohol and let that dry, the patch will stick so much better.

My doctor told me I would probably take bioidentical hormones, pretty much special made ones for my boday.

I really don't want to take any hormones.

Patches are more direct contact then pills (lose materials as digests) but some people don't work well on all patches. For instance, I use Climara 0.1mg/day but if I have the generic brand I get sluggish, dizzy, etc. FYI - After few days patch doesn't look pretty but does the job - once you find the right one for you. Good luck!
