Hello everyone. I am wondering who of you are on Levothyroxine and how much of it are you on? Also, what was your TSH before going on it and is it helping you? Your input will be much appreciated. Thank you all in advance!!
Believe it or not, my TSH was .010 when I started meds.....this was due to the fact that my Graves' blocking antibodies caused my thyroid to atrophy and I developed hypothyroidism (it happens to 20% of Graves' patients after going off anti-thyroid drugs).
I am beyond thrilled that I had already partnered with a doctor that knew to ignore TSH by the time I developed hypothyroidism.
She diagnosed me based upon my symptoms and my below-mid-range thyroid hormone levels - FreeT4 and FreeT3.
She worked with me to optimize my levels and I have been feeling awesome for quite some time - NO symptoms whatsoever - yay!!!
The meds/doses we take and the levels we have really don't matter....what matters is whether or not we are feeling good with what's going on.
