NinjaMother- go by how you feel. I always say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. There are a lot of endos out there that would freak out and try to treat you for it and some that would ask you how you feel at that level and keep you there if you feel good.

and here i sit with all the symptoms and my tsh was 1.4...yeah go figure!!

Candemsmom, It doesn't make any sense. The longer I have hypothyroidism the more I think the medical community really doesn't understand the thyroid that much.

i know..im very frustrated..read my last 2 days under "i had my appt and more confused then ever" i have no idea!! i just wish it would be fixed..although nothing is "wrong" i have a 2.5 cm nodule on one side...

My TSH is up in the 60's right now and that is down from 120 +. When my Endo called me with the results of my labs when there were in the 120's he said I shouldn't have even been able to get out of bed or form clear sentences...I was clearly shocked by the numbers but then I realized, that I didn't feel any where near as bad as "I should have". Yes, I had some fatigue and some other small aches and pains but like you, I felt "OK".

To be honest, the more they try to lower my levels the harder it's been on me!

Hello! So I just got my TSH today and it is 19.35 and T4 .77. I can totally tell that I am off though. I have leg cramps, anxiety and just don't feel right. I say stay with whatever makes you feel the best, you can't always go by the numbers!

My holistic doctor once mentioned a few years ago that he had a female patient with a TSH of a 100 and she felt absolutely wonderful. I said to him that she must've had wonderful Free T3 and Free T4 results as well.

However, does anyone know if there is some cumulative effect running a TSH that high? Just wondered.

I just got the rest of my test results. My free t4 and free t3 are in the normal range. I think that must be why I feel fine.

camps...I also have a hard time when they increase my medicine to lower my tsh. I'm lucky that I am working with an ND now instead of an endocrinologist.

If you feel good chances are good that you're T3 and T4 are good. However I do believe that the high TSH is an indication that you're thyroid is working overtime to get the T3 and T4 correct. Isn't that called pre-clinical hypothyroidism (or something like that).

I have had hypothyroidism for 4 1/2 years now and my numbers are never the same. They go up and then down then up and then down.

P.S. Maybe try for aiming the doses of the meds to the Free Ts at the mid ranges of the Frees? We all feel so differently within the 'normal' ranges and finding out where one feels their best could be the answer...?

I do my best to keep the Free T4 at mid ranges and slightly below. My Free T3 has to be no higher than mid range.

Maybe check with your doctor and see..?

My free t4 and t3s are generally fine, it is just the tsh that fluctuates a lot.
