It\'s not working. My labs are showing no improvement, to the point that my doctor is convinced that I\'m just not taking the meds. As if this doesn\'t add to the depression?
I\'m a mess, and seeking answers on my own. I feel horrible every day of my life, and I cannot accept that this is what\'s normal for me now. I have no energy, and the emotional rollercoaster is simply exhausting. I keep gaining weight. I\'m having symptoms of both high & low thyroid levels, which makes absolutely no sense. Think about this...I am currently on 150mcg. 20% of 150 is 30. With each dose, I could have been taking 120 mcg or 180 mcg. No wonder I turned into a yo-yo!
I never had any trouble taking birth control pills with my synthroid, but when I asked the pharmacist about it he said "well, I guess we'll find out in 9 months". I think he thought he was funny.
I have had to see several doctors over a long period of time to finally get the help I need. I wish I would have done it sooner. It is worth looking into to get the help you need.
Sometimes endocrinologists are not the best to see. Some people do better seeing an osteophath or holistic MD.
I am still learning, but it is important to have the Free T3, Free T4 (besides the T3, T4)and thyroid antibody tests. You cannot rely solely on the TSH result.
