Your Armour dose increase was pretty hefty so, adding Synthroid at this point could very well be more than your body can handle. It will "complain" in the form of possibly more symptoms and/or a worsening of the ones you have.
Successful treatment requires a patient patient.
It's also very important to maintain effective communication with our doctors. A patient who self-medicates could be considered non-compliant and the doctor might refuse further care.
The best we can do is to get labs every 6 wks. and push the doctor for dose increases while keeping in mind the initial treatment goal of FreeT4/T3 around 60-80% of range.
