pulse rate

I just had a digital arterial pulsewave circulation profiling done and there were two things that were not in the normal ranges. My pulse rate was high, which it normally is, but there was also something called pulse height. I don't know anything about it and was wondering if anyone here does. Mine was high at 9.8. any information would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Hi, NinjaMother. I don't really know a lot about pulsewave circulation profiles. The only thing I found strange is that you posted in a hypothyroidism group and yet you have a high pulse rate...? Usually, hypothyroid people have a slow pulse rate. I, though, do have a very high pulse rate. It's actually scary sometimes. But I was diagnosed as hypo...? Wondered if you knew anything about that. thanks.

Hi, I don't know about the profile, either, but have been both hyper and hypo and my pulse gets fast when I am either. It only seems to be normal if I am on a beta blocker or when my FT4 is in the middle ranges.

I don't know anything about that either.Checking my pulse 10 minutes or so after resting with fingers on the wrist is how I check mine.

I don't know why, but every time they raise my level of levothyroxine to lower my tsh my blood pressure goes up and my heart rate also goes up. I can also feel my heart beating harder.

I wish that I knew why also.

Yeah, it is so difficult to try to figure out the body and what it actually needs -- besides sleep, good food, and low stress. I am not on any thyroid medication. In fact, I am trying to avoid it. I am actually looking into natural means of fixing my thyroid. So, far, I seem to be feeling better with taking Coconut Oil, Selenium, V-E with Tocopherols, and B vitamins. I have actually lost some weight! From what I hear, prescription drugs don't really help take the weight off.... But the pulse rate is definitely a scary thing. My heart seems to beat hard, too. To protect the heart, I take CO-Q 10 and PC-95. Both seem to ease the pressure I feel sometimes in the chest. I hope you feel better.

have you had your FT3 tested, it might be on the high side, usually can cause a high pulse rate.

I too was diagnosed with Hyop but never got on meds ( I didn't get it then), but was put on Beta Blockers for many years and got off of them a little over 2 months ago, and my resting heart rate is 100 bpm and upon standing I am at 120 to 140 and that is moving very slow for a 35 year old woman.. I have to go back and get mediation to help me but yes it causes the heart rate to go everywhere as I am living proof, and have been working with a Cardio and nothing is wrong with my heart this is all hormones..
