Oh, and I'm fat too. I didn't know that being fat causes hypothyroidism. I thought it was the other way around.
It took me many doctors to find the one who was willing to run the right test. I just think of the bad ones as still practicing, trying to get it right. Some have a long way to go.

I am in school to be a counselor and trust me we are not taught to act that way.
if he was a psychiatrist that is the wrong person for you, often psychiatrists aren't really trained in helping someone through counseling, they are the psychologists who can fill out prescriptions, a glorified doctor. So if you want to get someone who will listen to you with a kind ear look for someone with an MSW (masters in social work), a counselor.
Being overweight does not cause hypothyroidism you are right, it IS the other way around.

Helpful hint, good counselors are taught that after a session they should ask the patient if there is anything they could do better to help them....so if you get asked this...you are probably in the right place :D
