Mixed dosage

Recently my doctor adviced me to interchange
My thyroxine dose, 100mg on one day, next day 125mg.
She resulted to this due to high increase of weight.
Has anyone tried this before?

I've done alternating doses but, the dose sizes were closer to each other.....I alternated 112 and 125 which came out to be a 6.25mcg difference in my daily dose.

I can't imagine having my doses vary by 25mcg from one day to another.

Why won't the doctor just prescribe you 112mcg daily?

Sheesh....I'm sorry - I should have clarified that, when I needed a small dose increase, my doctor increased my dose from 112 to alternating 112/125 which was, in essence, a 6.25mcg dose increase.

Obviously, the difference between my daily doses was 12.5mcg.....

Anyway, I remember that your labs showed room for improvement so I'm glad your doctor is increasing your dose.

12.5mcg/day is a reasonable dose increase and that's why I mentioned taking 112 daily vs. alternating doses with such a big difference between the daily doses.

I went to my GP complaining that I felt my levels were not right, the results came back satisfactory, thankfully this GP suggested alternating my dose, 150mg one day 175mg another, at least she wasn't offering me anti depressants this time I thought, however four months later I was on 175mg every day. I am now at my struggling point again and am waiting to see a GP
