First time getting labs done

Good evening everyone! After recently learning that Hashimoto's runs really strongly in my family I went in and had my thyroid tested for the first time. New doctor, new office. And I have to say I wasn't thrilled with the new doctor. I'm not confident that she'll be able to accurately interpret the results when I see her on Monday. I picked up a copy of them myself and I was hoping you could take a look and let me know what you think?

Besides a family history, why did you get tested for hypothyroidism?

I've just had some random issues for the last few years, that I always dismissed as getting older (I'm 32) or maybe working a bit too hard. Anxiety, difficulty sleeping, tired a lot, heart palpitations, hot flashes, tension headaches, spaciness... to name a few. And recently I've felt a weird pressure on my throat, like I have a piece of food stuck there. When I found out that thyroid disorders run in the family I figured it would be good to get it checked. I was going to ask about symptoms too. It sounds like you have got them. 32 is not old!

Your T4 is very low. Your T3 isn't too bad, but both need a boost. With a T4 med you may be able to then convert it to raise your T3 too.

If going on the basis of your TSH (wrong) your doc may say that you are FINE. Don't let the doc get away with that!

Hoping your doctor sees the situation the same way.

i dont think its right to be giving advice in such a situation.

in my situation, i wish id never started as i feel my condition with hashis appeared after taking synthetic medication. thats just my experience and in no way is advice.

you need professional advice not internet opinions.

you have an endo, have you asked to have your anti bodies checked?

I was also going to ask if they actually checked for Hashi's since you have a family history...it's one thing to check thyroid numbers, but what about the antibodies?

I appreciate feedback from others who have been experiencing similar problems, and I'm seeing a really good doctor on Monday to discuss it all. No, because I don't currently have health insurance the last doctor only ordered a basic thyroid panel that didn't include antibody tests. That's probably the next step. MaryKdau, everything really fell apart for me too after having my son!

I had my thyroid checked for years because I thought it was not right. Multiple doctors told me it was OK. It wasn't until I moved and my new doctor checked my antibodies. Around that time I had some major stress and it got much worse. It is very frustrating to not get answers when you know something is wrong.
