Well, my wife finally got tired of my PCP and made me an appointment with her NP. She said the nurse actually cares about her patients and wants them to get better. So I gathered up all the paperwork, labs, my little symptom notebook, etc, and reluctantly went and was ready to be pissed off yet again.
I intentionally added some other things that I was worried about, and casually said I thought my thyroid and testosterone were low. I told her that most people I know say that TSH doesn't really matter and the free's do. She nodded and said yep, and I about fell off the table. I'm not saying that she's NOT a TSH worshipper, but if she is, she hid it well. She drew blood for a full thyroid workup, without me having to ask, and also for some kind of test that will determine if I have something like lupus (collagen test maybe?) She also drew blood for some more tests, and set me up for a chest x ray and gallbladder ultrasound.
Here's hoping!! I guess the only choice we have is to keep trying

Nice to hear that your wife is trying. I bet that made you feel a bit better.
Congrats on getting some satisfaction finally with this new NP, I do believe that some NP's are more well versed and certainly more compassionate than most doctors!! Please post results.
And congrats to your wife for stepping up, high five on that one.
People that have good medical care sometimes don't recognize how bad it is, when you don't have it...
You are still moving forward and that's hope!
You need to make sure that she DOES run the full thyroid panel which certainly includes your FT3 and FT4. Insist on it. Demand it specifically. Its your body and life. We have to make our so called medical professionals work for US, not the other way around.\

Did you get a copy of what labs she ordered for you?
When I walked in my New doctor's office, she suspected Lupus with one look at me. She had never seen me before but my previous doctor saw nothing. My family, people at school saw my face, the butterfly redness but yet my regular doctor saw nothing.
It's great that your wife is involved.
