My naturopathic doctor told me that there is a high rate of adrenal fatigue in hypothyroidism because the adrenal glands work harder in patents with low thyroid. They have no middle ground to support adrenal function even though adrenal fatigue causes thyroid like symptoms (fatigue, mood changes, weight gain, etc.).
She has me on a detoxifying regimen of natural herbs to start. So far I am on day number 4 & I feel 10 times better!! I am already noticing more energy and better moods J She hopes that we can eventually wean off the synthetic medications. It feels so good to be on a path to better health and to have someone who discusses how I feel instead of just trying to hand me medications to suppress the real problem.
