I'm just wondering if anybody else with hypothyroidism suffers from always being too hot rather than the stereotypical chills?
I've had a problem all of my life with being overheated while everybody else is comfortable or cold. I feel that I've been hypothyroid at least since puberty as that is when the chronic fatigue and joint pains began. I'm now 46.
I love the winter because I can keep my home at 65 degrees or lower. When the weather reaches 70 degrees I start to suffer. I do occasionally have a spell of the chills, but they are rare - once a month or 5-6 weeks.
I've heard from one other acquaintance (not on this forum) who is hypothyroid and always hot. Anybody else out there?

When my levels were off the charts, I would get so very overheated and heat intolerant. But I can also say that's when my sweat glands had turned off...
I was reading an article the other day and it was talking about the hypothalmus being in charge of regulating heat. I was reading an article concerning running a fever.
If you have always had this, perhaps it's genetic.
Guess what - when she finished going through menopause she was diagnosed as hypothyroid.
So that's another person I know who is hypothyroid and always too hot. Silly of me not to list her the first time.
Our bodies are so complicated, what with all the different hormones working in tandem (or not).
It took 18 months to get my thyroid hormone levels up after the thyroidectomy, but I remained hot natured for the whole 18 months.
