Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) Support Group
The term hypoglycemia literally means "low blood sugar." Hypoglycemia can produce a variety of symptoms and effects but the principal problems arise from an inadequate supply of glucose as fuel to the brain, resulting in impairment of function. Derangements of function can range from vaguely "feeling bad" to coma and in the worst case, can be fatal.

I was wondering if anyone uses l-glutamine. On occasion I use it, usually when my digestion is off, but it is also very good for hypoglycemia. I just read that it helps prevent hypoglycemia and that it provides a major alternative fuel for the brain with low blood sugar levels.
I use it whenever I have had indigestion and it just feels so soothing. I don't have as much problems with digestion so I don't take it as much as I used to. When I was though, my doctor had me taking 20 grams a day.

I tried it only once...it seemed to make me crave sweets even more. But one trial isn't really a fair study. If you feel it helps you hepoglycemia, I'll give it another try...

The protein powder that I use has L-glutamine in it. I seem to feel better when I drink my protein shakes instead of eating actual food. That could be due to my lack of cooking ability though -LOL

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
