Hypochondria Support Group
Hypochondria refers to excessive worry about having a serious illness. Hypochondria is often characterized by fears that minor bodily symptoms may indicate a serious illness, constant self-examination and self-diagnosis, and a preoccupation with one's body. Many individuals with hypochondriasis express doubt and disbelief in the doctors' diagnosis.
Migraines can leave you feeling "off" for days afterward too.
I guess be glad that they didn't want to expose you to more radiation -- that's good, right? :-)
I understand the concern about being misdiagnosed too --- but I'm sure that very rarely happens. Remember, it's just your mind making you think you've been misdiagnosed!
I hope that you're feeling better! Do you live with your family? Are they helpful when it comes to your health concerns? This site and group are really helpful! It can be comforting to know that you're not alone in your worries...
I know it's easier to say than believe though. Currently I have been having a fear of blood clots and I have been having a terrible burning pain in the outside of my upper right thigh and I was at the doctor's office on Friday and she just looked at my leg and told me it was probably nothing to worry about it...but I am still worried and sometimes I get angry because I feel like they are just blowing me off because I do have a history of anxiety. But so far everything I was sure was going to be some awful, possibly fatal disease has turned out to be nothing, and yet I still worry all the time.
Usually when I have a severe anxiety attack I feel like crap for a day or two afterwards; constant headaches, muscle pain and tension, fatigue and insomnia are usually SOME of things that occur. It took me years to believe I was actually having anxiety attacks and I still question it at times, but it did get better and easier to handle once I accepted it. Hope things get better for you soon.
