Hypochondria Support Group
Hypochondria refers to excessive worry about having a serious illness. Hypochondria is often characterized by fears that minor bodily symptoms may indicate a serious illness, constant self-examination and self-diagnosis, and a preoccupation with one's body. Many individuals with hypochondriasis express doubt and disbelief in the doctors' diagnosis.
If it were really a stroke, both sides of your body wouldn't have numbness or tingling. It would be isolated to one side. Plus you'd probably be experiencing much more intense physical symptoms. Everything you said about being able to smile, lift both arms, and stick your tongue out, all sound like reasons to believe you AREN'T having a stroke.
You actually sound like a really healthy person! Nothing you described puts you at risk for a stroke. Do you take birth control pills? Or any sort of medication? Maybe you're having side effects from the medication. If you're really that scared, you should go to the doctor. It seems to me that you're worrying so much about dying from a stroke that you're causing psychosomatic symptoms. Just try to take some deep breaths, relax, and meditate. Maybe try to see the doctor for a check up next week. I bet you're fine. :)
Here's a really good website that lists the physical symptoms of panic. It's at the bottom. I always read that list of symptoms when I'm having a bad panic attack to remind myself it isn't a stroke or heart attack, it's just too much adrenaline pumping through my system! Take care, and I hope you feel better soon.
