Having the FNA (Fine Needle Aspiration) will indicate the the types of nodules you have. I am not a fan of the Uptake scan as it contains radiation.

I know. The FNA does the same thing as well as the Uptake and scan.

I found some youtube videos of a man going through the uptake scan. Also found video of FNA. Found the actual surgery that removes the thyroid.
What a bunch of STUFF!.
If I have some bad cells - I would opt for the surgery.
I'm really confused again. This drives me batty!!

I would suggest you research all options well and figure out the best thing to do. At least you did this through youtube.com.

I agree with the "overload of information" I feel like thats all I do now is research, research, research!

I have a large nodule on the right and small on the left. One is hot and one is cold. They were able to get that information from the U/S. I had a biopsy done on the cold nodule and it came back benign. I am hyperthyroid without any symptoms.

From what my endo said, 1 out of 2 people have some sort of thyroid nodule, its just that mine is causing hyper. I don't know your situation, but that could be the same situation for you.

I had the uptake/scan and its not bad at all. I was able to work the same day and there were no issues with being around anyone.

Yes, I have hyperthyroidism with many symptoms. Your nodules sound like mine!
I'll probably have the uptake done but wonder why they don't just do the needle thing. It would save one procedure, you know?
I worry about being off methimazole for 5 days prior to the scan.
Probably will be bouncing off the walls!

I also have multi nodules. I am having my 2nd uptake and scan on Nov29th . My tsh level was 0.28 on sept 27th but it was 0.49 last tuesdayI am having symptoms again because my Edno took me off the methizole in march.I have been dealing with this for 4 years but it took them 2 years to figure this out

We must be in the same boat!
My tsh was .007. I think it came up a bit but never above .0 something. My doctor increase methimazole from 5 mg daily to 10. I've been on that since early October. I'm going for another blood test tomorrow.

Interesting that you regained symptoms after going off the MMI. I thought about what would happen if I went off the med.
Rapid heart, palps, panic attacks - they would all start hitting me again.

Find out what your Free T3 and Free T4 levels are doing. Going by the TSH alone is not correct because it lags six weeks behind the current Free Ts results. It is also a Pituitary hormone and is affected by thyroid antibodies.
