Hyperthyroidism Support Group
Hyperthyroidism (or "overactive thyroid gland") is the clinical syndrome featuring weight loss (often accompanied by a ravenous appetite), fatigue, weakness, hyperactivity, irritability, apathy, depression, polyuria, and sweating. Additional symptoms may include palpitations and arrhythmias (notably atrial fibrillation), dyspnea, loss of libido, nausea, vomiting, and...
Better days are ahead when you get put on the meds.

The hot burning sensation kinda freaks me out...did you get this. I get it in my arms and back of the neck...sometimes kinda in my chest too.
And how do you deal with the anxiety? my doc has me on a anxiety medication but i really dont want to stay on this. Im also taking a beta blocker
Also check your diet. Type in my name in the search and do the small notebook of what you eat/drink and then avoid the triggers if heart rate goes high from the triggers.
Common triggers for so many of us Graves' Disease can include:
Iodine, MSG, Aspartame, etc.

P.S. Check your B12 levels and see if deficient. Sometimes hot, burning skin can come from that.
Saw the doc this afternoon and it appears my levels are coming back down to the normal range. She thinks this may have been a viral thing and that I should start feeling better...so no antithyroid meds at this point. we are going to continue testing to see what my levels are doing.
Do you have any suggestions for diet? is there things I should eat or things I shouldnt?
Im not taking any Thyroid meds...just beta blockers at this point. my doc thinks my levels are going to come down and I should be starting to feel better ( still waiting for that! ). I see a specialist at the end of July if Im still not feeling well.
Do you take meds?
#2. Ask your doctor what your TSH is, which is often used as a benchmark for hyperthyroidism diagnosis. If he doesn't know your TSH yet...see #1.
Do not wait to do these things. Get some recommendations for a good endocrinologist, and insist you are seen soon - due to your dramatic symptoms. The worse you are, the quicker they will see you, so be (overly) descriptive with your summary!
Take charge of your condition, and GOOD LUCK!
My blood work done on June 8 showed
TSH 0.43
which is apparently back in the normal range which is why Im not on meds the doc said.
I do have an appointment with an Endo but not till July 26
Your doctor needs to order the thyroid labs of the Free T3 and the Free T4. The TSH does not get dosed to any thyroid meds one takes for their thyroid health either hypER or hypO.
The reason for this is that the TSH is falsely skewed by thyroid antibodies and is not reliable for giving accurate reading. It also lags six weeks behind the current Free T3 and Free T4 results.
{{{hugs}}}
T4 was 14.7
T3 was 4.5
She also said my antibodies were normal
Thoughts?
I'll be back soon.
